I had the great privilege to work on each of the movies of the “How to train your dragon” trilogy (originally based on Cressida Cowell’s children book series), even though the second movie is the one that I spent the most time working on.
The world of “Dragon” combines both very organic shapes and some pretty sophisticated contraptions and architectures. I feel fortunate I had the chance to work on both, whether on the ice world inhabited by Hiccup’s mom or on Berk’s new buildings and Darko’s alliance war machines and dragon traps. It was also the first movie I used Maya during the blocking phase to explore the scale and space of some pretty epic sets.
